Sg tech celebrates the awards of the first edition of the sg tech TFG (Final Degree Project) Contest
On April 25, 2024, the sg tech offices in Madrid, located at Calle Núñez de Balboa 35A, provided the perfect setting for the first edition of the sg tech TFG Contest organized by the company. The ceremony, which took place at 12 PM, began with a presentation by Marta Castro, our Marketing and Communication Specialist.
The day was particularly intimate and filled with great energy, aspects highlighted in Alfredo Castro’s speech, who acknowledged the excellent work of Fabián Gutiérrez and Daniel Barahona, bouth of them students of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the first and second winners respectively. The competition focused on research in artificial intelligence, demonstrating sg tech’s commitment to innovation and support for emerging talent.
Daniel Barahona presented his project “Towards a Fairer Vision: Addressing Class Imbalance in Gender Recognition in Images,” a study on artificial vision algorithms using convolutional networks and their associated biases. Next, Fabián Gutiérrez discussed “Exigo: Example-Based Explanations for Neural Networks,” addressing Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) systems and their application in artificial neural network models.
The check presentation was conducted by Eduardo Egido, our CIO. All present sg tech members joined for a group photo, capturing the collaborative spirit of the event. The closing remarks were made by Fernando Ordóñez, our Chief Business Development Officer, who emphasized the importance of young talent not only as the future but as an indispensable present, highlighting the need to continue supporting and valuing this potential.
The First Edition of the sg tech TFG Awards not only recognized academic excellence and innovation but also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to promoting knowledge and technology as engines of change and progress.
