The event: Digitalization without social borders.

During the event, the existence of a significant gap in older people’s access to new technologies was emphasized. Therefore, the Colexio Oficial de Enxeñeiros de Telecomunicación de Galicia and the Asociación de Enxeñeiros de Telecomunicación set a goal to overcome this abyss. Hence, the theme chosen for that night was Digitalization without social borders.

Also present at the event was the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, who commented on the need for these professionals to assume that moral responsibility to prevent the creation of barriers in the use of digital technologies by our elders.

For Alfredo Castro, General Director of Serviguide Tech, “in events like these, we must demand that technological leaders, administrations, and institutions have the will to facilitate access to technologies for all citizens. From the methods and systems that each of us masters, we must be that support shield for our elders and people with different abilities.”
